Diseñado por la oficina de arquitectura con sede en Madrid SM.AO, la Capilla de Valleacerón es una estructura de hormigón plegable con diseño desnudo. No tiene ninguna iluminación artificial y por lo tanto se basa sólo en la luz natural para iluminar el espacio, haciendo hincapié en el simbolismo del proyecto.
La relación espacial exterior-interior determina su enfoque, su significado. Por consiguiente, el interior es decisiva mínima. Sólo una cruz y una imagen en el punto focal de relieve los aspectos simbólicos del proyecto.
La capilla está situada en lo alto de una pequeña colina, por lo que es tan parte del paisaje visto desde la entrada propiedad de 2 km, en un punto bajo.
